After spending over ten years as a fulltime Patent researcher for a well-known intellectual property law firm located in Arlington, Virginia, Mr. Elliott founded his own patent research company in order to meet the growing demand for quality research services at reasonable prices. In addition to conducting patent searches for the law firm, Mr. Elliott was also responsible for overseeing the overall operation of the patent research department. Mr. Elliott also spent several years conducting Trademark and Copyright searches for the firm. In addition to owning Intellectual Property Research, Inc., Mr. Elliott is an avid golfer and inventor.  He is the owner of two golf-related US patents (US 7,228,649 and 7,914,392) as well as related Canadian patents and PCT’s.  His experience with the patent-obtaining process enables him to understand the challenges faced by large and small entities alike. 

Our search staff is comprised of a team of experienced, professional patent researchers whose objectives are to locate the most-relevant prior art available. Our fulltime employees possess a combined total of over 60 years of fulltime patent research experience.  Our location near the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) in Alexandria, VA enables direct access to the Public Search Room (PSR), Patent Examiners and other branches of the USPTO.
